The Hyde Away Youth Centre is also located within the complex. The youth centre offers similar programs and has the same opportunities that are available at the Offside Youth Centre.
Port Coquitlam Community Recreation Complex Project
Because of its natural beauty, city vision and a great selection of affordable housing options, Port Coquitlam is growing at a rapid pace. The city is aware and excited about this growth and is keeping pace by providing a new community centre project. The project provides the city with a planned community centre that will be built between Mary Hill Road and Kingsway Avenue.
Ventana Construction will be responsible for building the community centre on 15 acres of city owned land over the next few years. The project is still in the early stages of planning, but it will include commercial space, an aquatic centre, ice rinks, and a wide variety of fitness and multipurpose space. The overall vision for the space is to provide a place for residents to gather and socialize as well as participate in a wide variety of services and activities.
As Port Coquitlam continues to grow, so will its community centre opportunities. The city has a great vision and is working hard to provide its residents with a wide choice of activities and services in its pre-existing community centres while also seeing a need and addressing that need to expand these services and activities. Port Coquitlam is a very visionary city when it comes to providing residents with community opportunities.
